Johnstone Supply is currently hiring in the North region, including Livermore, Salinas, Gilroy, and Merced.   Commercial Territory Manager will drive growth by onboarding new clients and developing our existing ones. THE DAY-TO-DAY

As a Commercial Territory Manager, you serve as a trusted advisor to our HVAC business clients. Your primary focus is to grow commercial product sales within your assigned territory. Establishing a consultative relationship with your clients will be crucial to your success. Your relationships will be built on integrity, trust, and credibility that facilitate mutual growth and profitability. They trust you because they can sense that you have a genuine concern for their well-being and success. You also act as a liaison between the customer and our inside staff to take care of their business needs. Sometimes you are even called upon to use your exceptional relationship-building skills to assist in resolving customer relations problems with both dealers and end-users.

You meet and exceed sales and profitability targets by ensuring all targeted market segments are effectively covered. You call on established customers and establish new accounts in underperforming areas. You enthusiastically participate in utility-sponsored events, home product shows, and industry associations as well as serve as a host at dealer meetings, conferences, conventions, incentive trips, factory tours, and similar functions. Listening to needs, you effectively explain how our products and services can satisfy those needs and skillfully overcome objections.

You maintain direct personal contact with all assigned accounts and respond within 24 hours to all requests for information or project quotes. Applying your understanding of basic HVAC accounting principles and proficiency in company-provided tools, you assist your assigned accounts with business planning, credits, collections, and participation in manufacturer programs. You also act as a resource of ideas to dealers on how to promote product lines, even accompanying assigned accounts on sales calls to end-users when requested. You encourage participation in all sales and marketing programs offered by Johnstone Supply and our partners.

Though you love interacting with people, you are also organized and goal-oriented. You make sure that all required reports are properly completed and submitted on time. Self-motivated, you also stay current on product offerings and industry trends. You participate in the development of Johnstone Supply's programs and promotions that are targeted to both the dealer and the end-user. Seeing your efforts pay off in your paycheck gives you a great sense of accomplishment. REQUIREMENTS FOR AN Commercial Territory Manager

  • Five years of commercial HVAC experience
  • Ability to maintain complete and up-to-date knowledge of all assigned product lines
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and customer relationship management (CRM) software
  • Effective sales, business development, and relationship-building skills
  • Leadership skills

Direct experience in a similar outside sales representative or business development manager position in the HVAC industry would be highly desirable but is not necessarily required.
