Johnstone Supply of Houston is looking to expand our team. We are a sales-oriented company seeking an experienced, results driven Inside Salesman to join our team.

Johnstone Supply has been providing brand name products, expert technical knowledge, and superior customer service to the HVAC/R (heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration) industry since 1953. We are locally owned and operated and are backed by the national buying power of over 500 stores and six regional distribution centers.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Inside Salesman position is responsible for achieving sales and growth targets by developing new strategic customer relationships and maintain existing accounts. Primarily sells through phone and e-mail activities.

Direct experience in the HVAC/R industry is not necessary, but experience in a similar sales environment or tiered distribution experience is helpful.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Respond to phone messages and e-mails; prioritizing and responding accordingly.
  • Recommends products to customers, based on customers' business needs.
  • Proactively follows up on leads generated from quotations and inquiries
  • Properly take payments and ROA’s from customers
  • Know how to use the available cross references and websites for selling/matching products.
  • Respond to phone messages and e-mails; prioritizing and responding accordingly.
  • Interacts cooperatively with outside and counter personnel to service existing accounts
  • Maintains professional communication when interacting with customers, coworkers, and vendors.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures, standards, and business ethics codes.
  • Scheduled Saturday work (1/2 from 8AM-12PM)

Job Skills:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and CRM software
  • Perform job role at a desk for 6-8 hours.
  • Demonstrated tenacity in achieving sales goals.
  • Strong project management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to concentrate and deal with possible interruptions

The successful candidate will possess the following:

Required:

  • High School Diploma/ GED
  • 1 year HVAC experience, or 1 year sales experience

Preferred:

  • 4-year college degree OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of effective sales strategies and techniques
  • Skill in proactively communicating (both verbal and written)
  • Motivated and results driven, with a strong drive to succeed and demonstrated tenacity in achieving goals.

We value the dedication and solid work ethic of our employees, and we offer superior compensation, including: The salary compensation range is $35,000 to $45,000 and a commission plan. The position also includes paid health insurance, paid vacation and holidays, and 401K retirement plan.
